        Mastek, the Mumbai-based provider of ERP solutions to industry verticals, is in the process of recruiting professionals in mainframe applications at the junior and senior levels to build competencies in this technology, mainly in the insurance segment.

        The company's Mainframe Centre of Excellence would be located at its new facility at Dr Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore. 'We are pleased to kick-start the recruitment process at the Chennai centre. Our vision is to build the newly launched Mastek facility as the Centre of Excellence. The team of experienced architects of mainframe solutions will provide software in the areas of mainframe applications, development, maintenance and migration. The objective is to meet and exceed the immediate and long term business needs of Mastek's clients,' said Sudhakar Ram, CMD, Mastek.

        The Mainframe team would collaborate with the Chennai delivery centre to ensure on-time and high quality delivery of client projects through constant auditing and competency building. Also, Mastek is in the process of developing a new campus at the Mahindra Industrial Park which would employ 5,000 staff when fully operational. In the first phase, which was expected to be completed within a year, the company would recruit 1,100 professionals for that facility.
