Deputy Chairman of Tamilnadu Planning Commission professor M Naganathan has said a chapter on Tamil Development and Culture will be included along with agriculture, industry and service sector in the 11th Five Year Plan document, which is to be submitted to the State government by the first week of September.
He said this to reporters after addressing the valedictory function of the first Tamil Science Conference organised by the SRM University here recently.
Nagnathan said the report formed by a group of 33 experts and working group had submitted its final report to the commission which would address all issues.
The commission would now study them, consolidate it and finalise its report to deliver it to the government.
'We have added a chapter on Tamil Development and Culture. The expert group had submitted the report on 'uniform Tamil font for encoding' to make Tamil universally accepted language in the world of computing,' he added.

Bharathidasan University Vice-Chancellor M Ponnavaiko, who as a member
of the expert group on Tamil Development and Culture represented Tamilnadu
in the technical committee meeting of the Tamil Unicode Consortium at California
in May, said the meeting had agreed in principle for unicoding of Tamil
language for universal acceptance and had formed sub-committee to work
on standardisation of Tamil characters.
