TWAD gets 19 new assistant engineers

TWAD board at the Secretriat today for the newly recruited employees.

        Local Administration Minister M K Stalin today issued appointment orders to 19 new Assistant Engineers in Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage Board ( TWAD) after they were selected through the Employment Exchange.

        According to an official release, Stalin had announced in the Assembly that the posts of 100 assistant engineers would be filled this year itself.

        He also issued incentives and promotions on the directive of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi - making 858 consolidated workers as time-scale pay category, relaxing the age and educational qualification of 173 temporary workers and subsequently making them as consolidated pay workers, gold medals to 54 drivers who had been serving for 20 years without any accident cases; national savings certificate to 33 drivers who were in service for 10 years, incentives to 8, 000 workers belonging to C and D class, kisan vikas certificates to six workers who have been in service for 25 years.

        Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department secretary K Deenabandu and TWAD Board managing director Swaran Singh and various officials were also present on the occasion.
