The service rendered by Rajasthan Youth Association to enable students to pursue their education is noble, Professor K Anbazhagan, Minister for Finance, has said.
The Minister was addressing a gathering on the occasion of 44th annual book distribution function organised by Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA) in Chennai yesterday.
He also said RYA had been rendering a noble services by establishing a book bank and lending textbooks of various disciplines such as arts, sciences, engineering and commerce to the students and to those from the downtrodden.
RYA had been praised by eminent personalities like
R Venkataraman, Atal Behari Vajpayee, C Annadurai, MGR and the present Chief Minister of Tamilnadu M Karunanidhi.
V Narayanan, chairman of Kanchi Kamakoti Child's Trust Hospital, speaking on the occasion, said Rajasthanis were known for their generosity as they ensured that a part of the amount they earned was spent for a noble cause. He urged the students to improve their knowledge as that would help in improving performance.
Later, Anbazhagan distributed books to students while Narayanan gave away the certificates to the students.
