        A youth, who tried to molest a 13-year-old girl, was arrested by the police at Taramani yesterday.

        According to the police, the accused Nanda, a resident of Thiruveethi Amman Koil Street, near Taramani, teased the girl while she was shopping in a market. When she resisted his advances, the agitated Nanda cornered her at a STD booth located in the market, and kissed her. The girl raised an alarm and Nanda fled the scene.

        After receiving a complaint from the father of the girl, Velachery police held an inquiry and arrested the youth, who was later booked under the Tamilnadu Women Harassment Act.
