        A DMK party man was run over by a container lorry near Manali on the outskirts of Chennai.

        The victim, police said, was Ganapathy (51) a DMK cadre, representating Minjur constituency and residing in Manali MMDA Colony, was travelling on the 200 Feet Road by a motorcycle with his elder brother's son when they were hit by a container lorry. Under the impact, Ganapathy died while the pillion rider escaped. Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
