        Chief Minister M Karunanidhi came in for praise from none other than his Cabinet colleagues for his proactive role in the election of Pratibha Patil as 13th President of India.

        The Cabinet appreciated Karunanidhi for his joint initiatives with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Left party leaders for electing a woman as the President of the country.

        DMK chief was also congratulated by the Cabinet for conducting a women's rally in support of Patil in Chennai.
