        It turned out to be a good opening day for Services at the Doubles and Inter-State ICL Squash championship here with the team registering easy wins.

        After winning their Inter-State match against Karnataka 3-0 in Group-D, Vikas Jangra and Shakti Singh defeated Ganesan and S Srikanth 1-3, 11-2, 11-6 in the doubles tie.

        Top seeds Saurav Ghosal and Harinder Pal Singh, playing for Tamilnadu got a walkover from Anshul Agarwal and Tarik Gaud of Madhya. However, the women's section will be devoid of the usual glamour since the top two in the country, Joshna Chinappa, who won her seventh national title yesterday and Dipika Pallikal left for Malaysia yesterday to compete in the World International Squash Players Association (WISPA) tournament.
