        Sri Lankan flavour was seen in good measure at the Chennai International Film Festival Thursday. Anuruddha Jayasinghe's second directorial venture Sankranthi The Tender Trap spoke of his work and the desire to present a clean offering.

        The plot is simple but hazarding a guess at the outcome would have tested even the seasoned movie-buff.

        An elderly primatoligst (Gerard) accompanied by his handsome assistant (Sunimal) and pretty wife (Pam) are on an adventure trip in the forest. The expected happens but not beyond the boundaries.

        Smelling the rat, Gerard devises a plan, hoping for the right kind of inputs for his thesis. His plan unleashes a chain of events culminating in an unexpected climax.

        Full marks to the director in keeping his focus fight while bringing to light the subtle undercurrents of the husband-wife relationship.
