        A 22-year-old quack, who had been running a clinic at Tambaram Sanatorium, was arrested here last night.

        It is said Haridas (22), a second year student of Sai Ram Engineering College residing at Chrompet, started a clinic in his father's name (Balakrishnan).

        Police say that he had an interest in medical profession, he is said to have gone for a six months training in a private clinic nearby.

        After completing his training with a private practitioner, he started his own clinic without any medical degree.

        However, getting suspicious about his treatment, one Basheer Ahmed of Chrompet filed a complaint with Chrompet police station.

        Based on his complaint, the police arrested Haridas here last night. A case has been registered under section 419 and 420 (cheating).

        Investigations revealed that this engineering student had no professional medical degree.
