Sir,
The ways of M Karunanidhi and his followers in the kazhagams are strange. Neither Periyar nor his present followers have never desecrated a Lord Murugua statutue or Goddess Mariamman. According to Kazhagam followers, Lord Muruga and Goddess Mariamman are Tamil Gods and not Aryan Gods. Similarly, the Kazhagams never attack or abuse Banagaru Adigalar or the various caste-Hindu Madathipathis - like Adheenam etc, because they are not Aryans.
Karunanidhi and his followers have never raised the issue 'whether a dalit can succeed a Bangaru Adigalar or whether a dalit can become chief of Adheena Madam.
Karunanidhi' s rationality comes in respect of Aryan Gods only. So what is the use of asking him whether he (Karunanidhi) would question the existence of Christ or Prophet. He will never give a straigt answer because he is NOT AN ATHEIST IN REAL SENSE OF THE TERM. Similarly, our comrades will never question the existence of Goddess Durga in West Bengal. A bunch of crooked politicians.

Sir,
The News Today editorial on the Sensex and Yuvi 6's was very interesting. Yes it is a matter of economic pride that our Sensex crossed 16K and Yuvi touched the sky 6 times to create a world record.
Our economic growth is very fast and our RBI is also at it continuously. Our PM Dr. Manomohan Singh is a celebrated economist and CR our PMs most trusted Adviser of Economic Affairs have a very good co-ordination backed up by RBI Governor Dr Reddy.
But Manmohan Singh has more often made some kind of observations that he was not too serious about Sensex. Dr Singh is a gifted intellecttual in the economic field.
The coincidence of Yuvi's 6s, Sensex 16k marked a red letter day in our Indian History. As you have very rightly said this success should not make us complacent and the focus should be on growth and we can be sure that the partership of PC and Reddy will surely achieve them.

Sir,
The editorial on Twenty cricket that appeared in News Today issue dated 20 September, makes an interesting reading.
While the present generation with its need for instant gratification, might find this form appealing, oldies like me find it silly. Even the name T20 reminds me of a bug killer that was popular some time back. Lala Amaranth called one day cricket “pajama cricket”. Wonder what he would have called the newer version? Brief cricket?
