Chennai Corporation today removed encroachments on the land allocated for a graveyard at Guindy in the city.
According to a press release, there were complaints that about one ground and 1573 sq ft land had been encroached upon by private parties at Arulayammanpet, Guindy. And Mayor M Subramanian instructed authorities to inspect the premises immediately.
During inspection, it was
found that compound wall had been erected in the land owned by the Corporation.
The authorities took immediate action and removed the encroachments, the
release added. A board had been installed stating that the land belonged
to the Corporation.
