NT Bureau
Chennai, Sept 22:

Tamilnadu AITUC president K Subbarayan has sought the support of the Human Resource Development Ministry to rejuvenate the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha through electoral and administrative reforms.

Briefing reporters here yesterday, he said that the Sabha with its core objective of propagation of Hindi has been out of gear by involving in commercial activities.

He also demanded the Centre to act on the recommendations given by the P R Dasgupta Committee on reforming the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha.

'According to the Committee's recommendations, what is required is to shake the organisation off its lethargy, tone up its efficiency and introduce reforms within the electoral system to reduce the scope of power politics,' Subbarayan added.

He further said that an appropriate staffing pattern, recruitment and orientation training methodology in tune with the structural needs of the Sabha should be done.

On other demands, Subbarayan pointed out that the administrative procedures to deal with the process of seeking various approvals and decisions needed to be laid down in detail in the form of a manual.

AITUC assistant general secretary T M Moorthy and its administrative member T Subramanian were also present.
