Chennai, Sept 22:
Johnson Controls, a leader life cycle solutions unveiled a white paper at the Green Building Congress 2007 on reducing the life cycle costs of buildings in India.
The $32-billion global major has stepped up its activities in India in the areas of sustainability and energy efficient buildings as part of a global strategy to provide the greenest possible solutions for its customers.
According to Pramoda Karkal, vice president and managing director, Johnson Controls India, the best way to build a more comfortable, safe and sustainable world is to apply internationally recognized standards in the beginning, rather retro-fitting them later.
Johnson Controls has provided its support to buildings like ITC Green Centre and Wipro in Delhi to achieve their Leadership in Energy Environmental Design (LEED) certified platinum ratings in India.
'We also set standards. Johnson Controls is associated with the US Green Building Council in the development of its Leadership in Energy Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and certification for green buildings, which has achieved positive results in the US.
And we are already building on this invaluable LEED experience to support green building developments in other markets in Asia, including India,' Karkal said.
The company is committed to creating green environments and offers customers sustenable, one-stop life-cycle solutions, HVAC&R systems including chillers to building controls, fire and security solutions as well as services to ensure comfortable and cost-effective buildings.
According to Karkal, at Johnson Controls sustainability matters at every level, 'You can see it in what we call our triple bottomline— economic prosperity, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. That's why all our products, services and every facet of our operations and community involvement are geared to the efficient use of resources to benefit people all over the world. And we are committed to bring this philosophy to the Indian market.'
