        Sharing a public platform with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for the thanksgiving ceremony of the release of Krishna water is understandable,  but an hour-long tete-a-tete is unacceptable, feel most Sai Baba devotees.

        As this comes in the wake of Karunanidhi’s recent anti-Hindu postures, the rationalists would have felt elated that the Baba was calling on the champion of atheists. Some of the Baba’s devotees are contended realising that the Baba is above all with no ego, pride, has shed worldly instincts and that he minded not visiting someone having just opposite views for the fear of denting his ‘political rationalist’ image.

        The theists should reflect that Dayalu Ammal, the CM’s wife, worshipped prostrating herself at the feet of Sai Baba, while Karunanidhi looked on meekly. Karunanidhi should in future underplay his anti-Hindu stance.
