        Humankind has witnessed weird occurrences which are as inexplicable as they are deceptive. Banquo's ghost is not the only instance in point.

        There is something strange even about the ordinary dispensations of the author of this universe. They relate to ordinary details.

        No two fingerprints are alike even among the proverbial seven with the same faces and the genetic endowments even among twins differ widely.

        In the recent past, there were twins one of whom was a businessman turned administrator and the other a reputed gynaecologist. They did look alike.

        The colour of the skin is said to be determined by race and climate but, even within the same group, not to speak of the same family, complexions differ.

        The Lord above is said to be perfection personified but among His creations some live all their life as unfinished pieces.

        The Lord above is as much guilty of manufacturing defects as human manufacturers. He cannot be sued for damages and defects can be set right only to a limited extent.

        Hinduism gives a charitable interpretation such as that defects are pre-ordained by one's actions in a previous birth. Other religions do not have any such alibi.
