A youth who broke into a police man's house was arrested here and the stolen properties recovered.
According to police, when Kancheepuram taluk police inspector Thulasi Narayanan and police were on the rounds on Ennaikarar Street, a person was standing in front of a pawn broker shop under suspicious circumstances. They took him to the police station and interrogated.
Police said his name was Sukku alias Sudhakar (21) from Nalakalathumedu area in Chinna Kancheepuram. And it came to light he was the one who broke into the house of Kothandan, a policeman, on 6 January and carried away 8-sovereign gold and on 11 January robbed 5 sovereigns from the house of one Gopinath at Orikkai Mullai Nagar.
Following this, police recovered
the jewels, registered a case, produced him before court and put him behind
bars.
