The fertilizers and chemicals major Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co Ltd has achieved growth in terms of net sales to the tune of 10 per cent during the nine month period ended 31 December, 2006.
'However, the company's net profit dipped by 23 per cent to Rs 52 crore as against Rs 67.59 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. The quarterly net sale turnover stood at Rs 523.08 crore as against Rs 620.45 crore,' said S G Mankad, chairman, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co Ltd.
The earning per share was Rs 3.56 in the quarter compared to Rs 4.61 in the corresponding previous quarter.

Singh said, 'the result was due to the impact of unplanned shut down of
Ammonia plant for 36 days and other planst for 30 days. The plants were
recommissioned during the quarter.'
