Adi Sankara jayanthi celebrated with fervour

Paranjothi Swamigal and Sachithananda Swamigal with Kanchi Seer Jayendra
Saraswathi at Sri Adi Sankara's 2558th jayanthi held at Kancheepuram yesterday. 

        The 2558th jayanthi of Sri Adi Sankara, who spread the message of Hinduism throughout the country, was celebrated with grandeur at Sankara Mutt here yesterday.

        As part of the celebrations, Sankaracharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal visited the Sankara Arts College at Enapur at 10 am and performed special pujas to the 60-feet Adi Sankara statue. Junior Sankaracharya Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal was also present on the occasion.

        Later, the Seer visited Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple on way to the mutt and conducted pujas at the Adi Sankara sannidhi at the mutt. Following this, Ambal keerthana, Guruvnandhana keerthanas were rendered. In the afternoon. Veda pundits conducted Veda sammelan. Sri Jayendrar honoured each of the participants with a shawl and spoke on Sri Adi Sankara.
