Madras Management Association (MMA) is organising a two-day Management Students Convention (MSC) at IMAGE auditorium from today. The convention is aimed to provide a platform for the students to prove their skills.
Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank M S Sundara Rajan would be the chief guest for the inaugural session to be held later in the day.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, MMA president S Gopal said the theme of this year's convention is 'Strategies for the bottom of the pyramid' which is based on Dr C K Prahalad's book titled The Fortune at the Bottom of the pyramid'.
Chairman of the convention, K S Ramesh said that there would be three business sessions and added that the first session would focus on the subject 'Strategies to overcome challenges in marketing to the bottom of the pyramid'. Similarly the second session would focus on the theme 'Creating products and services for the bottom of the pyramid' and the third session on 'Creating consumption potential at the bottom of the pyramid' and would be followed by competitions for the students, he added.
Over 150 management students
across the country are participating in various competitions at the convention
and the total prize money is Rs 1.5 lakh, he said.
