        A 75-year-old woman's gold chain was robbed by two men recently in Choolaimedu.

        Police said Rathinavalli (75) of Railway Colony in Mehta Nagar, Choolaimedu, was staying all by herself in her house, when two men turned up at her doorstep, posing as salesmen.

        When she had not wanted to buy the cooker they had for sale, they had asked her for a glass of water. When she had turned to fetch the water, they pounced on her and snatched her four-sovereign gold chain. They made good their escape before she could call for help.

        Aminjikarai police have registered a case.
