        Actors of small and big screen received Ugadi Puraskar awards at a glittering function in the city yesterday organised jointly by Ragamayee Telugu Cultural Association and North Madras Arya Vysya Sangham to mark the Telugu New Year.

        South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce secretary Katragadda Prasad, film directors R V Uday Kumar and D Vijaya Bhaskar, producer K Rajan, North Madras Arya Vysya Sangham president V Raamesh Krishna and music director Shameer were the guests of honour. Ega theatre owner

        C Sudarshana Srinivasan was the chief guest on the occasion.

        Actors Lakshmi Raju, Radhakrishna, Jayanth, Veladi Raghu, Kakarla, Gopi, Surya Prakash, Alekhya, Neelima and Pani were presented with Ugadi Puraskar awards.

        Earlier, P Srinivas and party sang a couple of Telugu film songs. A dance show by Harshini enlivened the occasion, which was followed by a martial arts programme. A couple of children under the supervision of Karate exponent A R Sundar demonstrated their skills in this martial art.
