Chennai, Jan 19:

All the four Rig, Yajur, Sama and Adharvana Vedas will soon be made available in audio format on the internet thanks to the efforts being taken by Vedic Sangeetha Foundation.

Announcing this at a press meet yesterday, founder and trustee of the organisation A K Ramamurthy said Vedic Sangeetha Foundation, established to protect and take the messages of Vedas to the present generation would celebrate its fourth anniversary in Chennai on 20 January.

Stating that it was time to safeguard Vedas since the way of living prescribed by saints centuries ago was facing a threat, Ramamurthy said the only way in that regard was to have it posted on the web, as there was no script.

'Our aim was to make the common man understand the meaning of Vedas. If we failed to do it now, no one can stop it from deterioration,' he said.

Vedic Sangeetha Foundation activist K Jayaraman said Vedas do not belong any particular religion or community but to everyone and it is the Vedas which differentiate human beings and animals.

Stating that the project of hosting Vedas on the web was a huge one, Jayaraman said the entire 3,000 hours content would be made available free of cost for all to download.

He also appealed to like- minded persons to donate liberally to make the two- and-a- half year project a success.

Vedic scholar Balasubramania Ganapadigal was also present at the press meet.
