        Chennai District Collector Jaya presented the best youth award to V Prabhu for his social services during the year 2005-06.

        Twenty-two-year-old Prabhu was honoured by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chennai Rural, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The award carried a citation and a cheque for Rs 2000.

        Prabhu is a full-time social worker and part-time student. He is the president of Yuva Bharathi Youth Club and also member of many youth associations like Bharath youth association, Brahma Kumaris youth wing and vegetarian youth club.

        He was an active community level worker in the United Nation team for recovery support for tsunami affected population in 2005.

        Also, Prabhu as a NSS member did a project on purity cleanliness Aids awareness and role of youth development and water diseases, a press release said.
