A government bus which did not stop when signalled to by a crowd was subjected to stone-hurling which resulted in the injury of a woman passenger near here.
The bus conductor did not stop the bus, plying between Chengalpattu and Madurantakam. as it was reportedly overcrowded but the mob flew into a rage and some among them threw stones at the bus. As a result, a woman passenger later identified as Kala sustained head injuries.
The incident was reported at the Chithamur police station. Police registered a case and arrested Ramesh, Vijayan, Chidambaram, Punni-yakodi, Narayanasamy and Thangasamy of Peruveli village.
