Artisans from all over the country have displayed their work at the 'Artisans Fair' being held in Sankara Hall at Alwarpet, Chennai.
Spathicks, stone statues, antique silver jewellery from Jaipur, exclusive lacquer bangles with mirror-work, Banjara items from Hyderabad, special designer Punjabi salwars, embroidery designed Kashmir salwars, shawls are some of the traditional items made available.
Bihar's exclusive eatable items like kesher yilayichi (mouth freshener) Goney Amla from Jaipur too are available.
Apart from these, there are Tanjore paintings, metal crafts, floor coverings like carpets, hand-woven durries and namdas.
The exposition also contains traditional Georgette saris, bedsheets from Haryana, silk paintings from Kishangarh, Kashmiri tops, pashmina Kashmiri shawls, antique wood statues from Jodhpur, Banjara items from Hyderabad with mirror- work finish.
Wall hangings from Orissa, depicting 'Krishna Leela' are available in more than 200 designs and the price ranges from Rs 50 to Rs 50,000.
The exhibition was inaugurated by actress Shreya Reddy. The exhibition will be on till 31 January.
