SlashSupport, a technology support company, has entered into a multi-year technical support contract with enterprise solutions provider Nortel.
According to the contract, SlashSupport would provide support out of its Chennai facilities for products of Nortel, especially in voice and data portfolios.
Briefing the media yesterday, Shiva Ramani, CEO, Slash-Support, said the multimillion dollar contract would reinforce its role in high-end technical support for global companies. The company has plans to hire over 250 engineers at its Chennai facilities in the next six months. At present, SlashSupport has an employee base of 3,000 professionals deployed across a range of IT support and outsourcing services.
In his statement, Roy Maclean, head, North America Enterprise, Nortel, said the Chennai firm has focused capabilities in technical support with a management ability that has the ability to demonstrate its strength in improvin-g the end-user experien-ce by creating and delivering knowledge-centric support solutions than any other company.
Though headquartered in San Jose, US, the company has global facilities in Chennai and a redundancy centre in Singapore with a customer base of over 30 companies.
