and other officials are also present.

It was a spectacular and joyous moment for the devotees and temple staff who witnessed the festival in which Lord Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Lord Venkateswara, attired in hunter's clothes, is seen hunting at Tirumala Hills.

The annual Parveti Utsavam (safari) ritual was performed at noon yesterday. It is a traditional ritual being conducted every day after the Makara Sankranthi Day when Lord Malayappa Swamy would be seen symbolically hunting. After performing the sacred rituals, the temple chief priest symbolically representing Lord Malayappa Swamy took the golden spear and literally ran amidst joy and much religious fervour.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive officer A P V Narayana Sharma, joint executive officer Balaramaiah and senior officials of TTD and large number of devotees witnessed the parvet utsvam.
