        Locked houses have become the target of a looting gang. This time, it's the house of a government employee in suburban Kodungaiyur.

        According to police, Kanagasabai, a government servant residing at Kodungaiyur Venkateswara Nagar, had been to his native Orathanad along with his family members to celebrate Pongal.

        On his return today, he found the house broken into and three sovereigns of gold ornaments kept in the almirah missing.

        Police have registered a case and are investigating.
