AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa today said the 'anti-people DMK regime in the State will fall' by the year end and also said the State under Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was heading towards bankruptcy.

Addressing party workers on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of party founder MG Ramachandran, at the party headquarters here, Jayalalitha sounded a positive note for her followers by saying that the AIADMK had a bright future in the coming days.

'Though the DMK is in power one cannot see such spirited and enthusiastic cadres at the DMK headquarters — Anna Arivalayam,' Jayalalithaa said. 'The spirit of AIADMK workers demonstrated that the party will come back to power in a very short span of time.'

Blaming the government for the 'deteriorating law and order situation in the State', the former Chief Minister said robberies and murders were taking place during broad daylight which only strengthened the notion that 'there was no security for anyone in the State'.

Jayalalithaa said the AIADMK was the only party working towards fulfilling the dream of leaders like Annadurai and MGR and added that no power can stop the party from working for the people. Referring to DMK's election symbol of raising sun the AIADMK leader said the 'sun will set soon and will never rise.'

Earlier adrressing mediapersons, the AIADMK chief said parties other than the Congress and the BJP should join together and stand united to form a third front. She however said such a situation favouring a third front has not emerged.

To a question on the split in the MDMK the former Chief Minister said the party general secretary Vaiko was 'capable of handling his intra party affairs.'

On the verdict of the Madras High Court in the civic poll violence, Jayalalithaa said the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had no right to continue in power in the face of the ruling.

She also blamed the DMK government for the continuous rise in prices of essential commodities.

Slamming the Chief Minister that he was 'making a mockery of governance by announcing freebies day after day' Jayalalithaa said the State was heading towards bankruptcy.

The UPA government at the Centre has lost the 'confidence of the people' in various issues like the nuclear deal with the USA and curbing terrorism.

She also said the Chief Minister had always insulted the sentiments of the Hindus by making comments on the statues in temples.
