        Indian Bank, Chennai, edged out Golden Threads FC, Kochi, 3-2 while another local outfit Netaji SC blanked Globe FC (Hyderabad) 3-0 in the Don Bosco-Fr McFerran Trophy all-India football tournament, being held at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Wisdom Town, Red Hills. In another encounter, Army Greens team with two goals by Ajib and one from R S Bhandari trounced Universal Soccer School, Calicut, 3-0.

        The tournament was inaugurated Sunday last by A Krishnasway, Member of Parliament in the presence of Fr N Gerard, chairman, DBYC.

        In the opening match, Don Bosco - Annai Youth XI beat Thiruvallur DFA XI 3-1 with Ramakrishnan, Santhakumar and Ramu finding the net for the winner. Viswanathan reduced the margin for the Thiruvallur team.
