Police crack murder case

        Chennai police have arrested a 24-year-old man on the charge of murdering a businessman belonging to Perambur and recovered jewellery worth Rs 2 crore, Rs 30 lakh in cash, 13.7 kg gold and diamond jewellery from him.

        Addressing reporters here, Police Commissioner Letika Saran said the businessman S Suresh Bohra (44) used to seek advice from Shankara gurukul, grandfather of accused Vasanth whenever he planned for new investments and other monetary transactions.

        A couple of days ago, Vasanth suggested to Bohra that if he removes the dosham from the jewels he possesses he could flourish well in his forthcoming business ventures and asked him to bring the cash and jewellery. Bohra collected the jewellery and cash, packed them in bags and met Vasanth on Wednesday evening at Thiruvanmiyur. Soon after Bohra met Vasanth he was poisoned to death with a cyanide-laced banana.

        Meanwhile, relatives of the businessman launched a compliant and the policeman began a search for the businessman. Vasanth also joined Bohra's relatives in the search. On Thursday night Vasanth told the relatives that the businessman could be found in the Thousand Lights area.

        Police and Bohra's relatives then found the businessman's decomposed body inside a car at a car park, near a private hospital, early on Friday morning. On suspicion, Vasanth was interrogated and arrested.
