NT Bureau
Chennai, Feb 17:

AIADMK and MDMK will continue to raise their voice against 'injustice' meted out to Tamilnadu by the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, MDMK general secretary Vaiko said today.

Speaking at a fast launched near Valluvar Kottam here to condemn the final verdict on Cauvery that was 'unfair' to the State, Vaiko said Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi had betrayed the people of Tamilnadu by his reported remarks that the final verdict brought him solace.

Tamilnadu had a chance to get 379 tmcft water, he said and added that the State had to lose in the final due to Karunanidhi's wrong approach.

Vaiko said Karunanidhi's interview in Delhi was the sole reason for the agitation in Karnataka. And the DMK chief is responsible for not getting the required water to Tamilnadu, he added.

As far as issues pertaining to the State, he said the AIADMK and MDMK would raise their voice to protect the interests of people of Tamilnadu and would jointly stage agitations.

Earlier, AIADMK presidium chairman Madhusudanan launched the fast. Others who were present included MDMK deputy general secretary Mallai Sathya, district secretaries Jeevan, Velachery Manimaran, Somu and propaganda secretary Nanjil Sampath.
