        The lover couple which committed suicide yesterday near the Tambaram Railway track has been identified, police said.

        The man was Ramesh Babu, a native of Tirunelveli who was working in a textile shop at Selaiyur. He had fallen in love with his colleague Pappi alias Ponni.

        The lovers, fearing parents' protest, ended their lives by jumping before a train near Erumbuliyur yesterday. And their identity was not known immediately. After an intensive enquiry, Tambaram railway police identified them.
