Murthy, chairman, southern regional council (ICAI) in Chennai yesterday. |
Economic growth and rise in business activities would require the services of more chartered accountants in the coming years. The country would require not less than 50,000 CAs by 2010 in step with its growing enterprise, said Sunil Himmatlal Talati, the newly elected president of ICAI.

Keeping in view the growing importance of CAs, a master plan Mission 2007 comprising a set of activities like popularising the CA curriculum in schools and colleges, opening counseling groups at every branch and regional offices, establishing and promoting web-based learning and spotting the talent by the way of finding aspiring students in the country and encouraging them to join CA course was being drafted.
