        Local Administration Minister M K Stalin today directed the officials to speed up road repair and flyover works in the Chennai Corporation limits.

        Chairing a review meet at the Secretariat in connection with the developmental works, Stalin called upon the officials to commence the work soon on flyovers to come up at Mint junction, Basin Bridge-Kokrane Basin road junction, Tiruvanmiyur-L B Road junction and Madhya Kailash-IT Corridor junction and to complete it quickly.

        Moreover, he directed the department concerned to display information boards in the respective work spots and give details of commencement of work and completion date for the benefit of the public.

        He advised setting up a design section comprising technical experts and engineers to oversee the road repair and flyover works for early completion of the work.

        Stalin urged the officials for early purchase of 80 fully covered vehicles for removal of garbage in Corporation area and directed the commencing of works on modern burial ground and electric crematorium at a cost of Rs 28 crore.

        On maintenance of parks, he directed the Joint Commissioner to inspect the Corporation Parks and submit a report on it soon.
