Chennai lads for Malaysian tourney

        It will be a historical day for Indian bike racing as the two Emmanuel brothers from Chennai, Jebaraj and Gnanaraj, race in the Malaysian Super Series Asian Championship this weekend in Malaysia. Both have national titles to their credit and are now in the endeavor to bring international glory to their country.

        Emmanuel Jebaraj, five-time National Champion on bike racing will be racing once again this in the prestigious Asian Championship Malaysian Super Series after a successful season last year. Jebaraj completed fourth in the Championship in the 150cc Kawasaki Class, This year he will be racing the Aprilia Bike in the 250 cc class for the Aprilia Cup. He is being sponsored by Dinesh Reddy of Red Rooster Racing who is a racing enthusiasist and by Livelife (Venkat Ramana, a long time friend and sponsor for Jebaraj).

        According to Jebaraj, 'I am really looking forward to a full season this year after having missed the first round last year.' With the opportunity to compete in the full season this year Jebaraj is confident of a finish in the top three and also hopes to annex the championship.

        Emmanuel Gnanaraj, the younger brother of Jebaraj and a National champion in 2001 who is now settled in Britain will be making a comeback to professional bike racing as he gets set to take part in the 150cc Kawasaki Class representing India. In UK, Emmanuel has not been active in professional racing, but had kept in touch by partipating in the fun races of the Big Bikes category.

        Gnanaraj said, 'I have been away from competitive racing for a while but have been practicing a lot in recent times. I am looking forward for the season although being here for the first time I really don't know about the competition but am confident of doing well and make it to the podium'.
