        The Rotary Foundation, USA through the Rotary Club of Madras Fort (District 3230) has gifted a treadmill and an echo machine worth Rs 13.81 lakh to B P Jain Hospital, Pammal.

        At a function held here recently, State Minority Commission member Pyarelal Pitalia handedover the equipment to Dr K Sundaram, chief surgeon, B P Jain Hospital to strengthen their cardiac diagnostic centre.

        R K Duraiswamy, president, Rotary Club of Madras Fort and B P Jain, chairman, Rotary Foundation were among those participated.

        The Foundation has also sanctioned Rs 30 lakh to conduct 3,000 free cataract surgeries for the needy in Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal, a press release said.
