        A two-day symposium on 'Emerging trends in desalination, reactor water chemistry and back-end technology of nuclear fuel cycle', will be held at V S Auditorium, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Shastri Bhavan, here on 18 January.

        Former director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) A N Prasad will inaugurate the symposium.

        According to a press release, the symposium will present several invited talks by specialists in desalination, reactor water chemistry, fuel reprocessing, waste management etc.

        There will be a special session about the achievements and milestones in the BARC programmes at Kalpakkam. The discussions during the meet are expected to generate ideas to stimulate work and also to generate satellite projects for the department.
