In recogising the outstanding contribution in print and electronic media, Transparency International India presented media awards to six journalists at a function held in Delhi.
According to a press release, noted social activist Anna Hazare presented the M S Oberoi Media awards to the journalists for excellence in exposing corruption.
The recipients were Varghese K George (Indian Express), M L Narasimha Reddy (Eenadu), Samudra Gupta Kashyap (Indian Express), Rohit Khanna( CNN-IBN), Saurab Shukla (India Today) and Sidhartha Gautam (CNN-IBN). The recipients received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh , a medallion and a citation each and the silver awardees received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 with a medallion and citation.
