Madras Printers and Lithographers Association (MPLA) is organising road shows across Tamilnadu to invite participants for the Printech 2007 — a five-day exhibition on printing, packaging and communication technology to be hosted by Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) in that commercial capital from 15 December 2007.
Established in 1956, MMS is one of the oldest federation of printers and allied industry in and around Mumbai. The trade fair would address the needs and challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in the printing sector and show the options before them to expand their business, said Uday Dhote, president, MMS. Also, the mega-event would provide a solid platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to interact on issues of concern to printing and allied sectors, he said. With more than 1.30 lakh printing presses accounting for a capital investment of Rs 7,900 crore in the country, the mega event at Bombay Exhibition Centre would showcase the latest technologies in printing, packaging and communication systems.
A major feature of Printech would be IPP-XI conference to held on 17 - 18 December that would discuss topics such as changing markets, viability issues, expansion, marketing, branding and relocation for small and medium business. Expert presentations would discuss on how to consolidate and develop competitiveness in print business and the need to evaluate the technology for upgrade options in key industry segments. The exhibition would be supported by seven groups formed by printers, traders and industry leaders in the country.
Indian and Chinese manufacturers of printing machinery would display their products and allied services for the industry. 'A Chinese pavilion would house the products and services from the country. There will also be an exclusive pavilion for the packaging sector which will display their products for the pharma, cosmetic, jewellery, besides a range of equipment,' said Dhote.
On the display profile of Printech, he said the entire spectrum of solutions in pre-press, press and post-press segments, graphic materials and supplies, inks and chemicals, design equipment and ancillary products would fill up the stalls at the five-day mega fair.
More than 200 exhibitors
would participate at the exposition which would also open up a buyer-seller
meet to benefit the stakeholders in the printing industry. 'Besides Chinese
pavilion, there would be over 25 foreign exhibitors and MNCs at the Printech.
We will be conducting road shows in Tamilnadu to attract printers and corporate
houses,' said R C Daga, president, The Madras Printers and Lithographers
Association which is one of the oldest federation of printers in the country.
