Lastech Systems has launched a website www.tamilthedal.com which enables one to use Tamil language for search in Google or Yahoo engines. According to a press release, the user can directly type the Tamil text to search various keyboard layouts like typewriter, phoenetic, Tamil-99 and romanised.
The java-based website uses unicode standard and allows the user to type in Tamil without the need to download the fonts or software to the user's system.
For users who are not familiar with the Tamil keyboard layouts, the website provides a transliteration facility. This allows the user to type the Tamil text using the English characters without memorising the Tamil key sequences.
Lastech has also launched
a website 'indianlanguagesearch.com' for search in 12 Indian languages.
