Dentists and dental assistants, working in Government Hospitals on a contract basis, will go on a hunger strike tomorrow near the Chepauk Guest House here between 10 am and 4.30 pm to draw the attention of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to regularise their service.
According to a press release issued by Doctors' Association for Social Equality (DASE) said that about 50 dental doctors and dental assistants had been working on a contract basis for more than three years at government hospitals and were employed only three days a week.
DASE would organise the hunger strike and its general secretary G R Ravindranath would lead the doctors. CPI State secretary D Pandian would deliver the inaugural address.
More than 100 dental doctors
and dental assistants would take part in the demonstration, the release
added.
