DESTINATION VGP: The VGP golden beach is all set to  celebrate Pongal with pomp and gaiety.

        After celebrating New Year with fun and festivity, it is now time for the VGP Golden Beach to offer attractive programmes and packages for the harvest festival of Pongal.

        Music concerts, game shows and a host of fun-filled games are the special attractions for Pongal at the VGP Golden Beach.

        The three-day fest 'Jillunu Oru Pongal' begins tomorrow. On 15 and 16 January, there will be musical programmes by Nanjil N Manimaran, Melky Raja and dance sequences by Aerolus troupe.

        On Kaanum Pongal day, Kalaka Povathu Yaaru-fame Chinni Jayanth will present a variety entertainment programmes followed by a live performance by music director Adhityan.

        Traditional folk arts like 'karakattam' and 'poikal kuthirai' will also be staged.

        There will also be fun-rides like rollercoaster, jungle car, go-kart and bumper cars among others.

        Special fun ride called 'Thrill X' has been introduced this year for children.

        VGP managing director Ravidass said the entrance fee had been reduced to Rs 75 from Rs 100 per head to facilitate more people to come and enjoy the programmes.
