Chennai, Jan 14:
Three persons including a PMK Councillor have been arrested on the charge of attacking Maraimalai Nagar DMK deputy secretary following differences that developed after the civic polls last October.
It is said the Maraimalai Nagar DMK deputy secretary Pachakcharam had canvassed for Parthasarathy who contested against the PMK candidate in the civic polls last October. PMK councillor of Ward 18 Raghupathy's sister Shakila was contesting on the PMK ticket. Hence there was difference of opinion between him and Raghupathy.
Following this, Pachakcharam's nephew Balaji was standing in a bus stand when Raghupathy's supporters dragged him into a quarrel. On hearing the news, Panchakcharam's brother Dev and his supporters went to the rescue of Balaji. Both the groups clashed last evening. In the melee, the DMK deputy secretary, Dev and their supporter Srinivasan received injuries.
