Man held for forgery

        A 40-year-old man is in trouble for making duplicate seals and government emblems and forging the signature of a Tahsildhar. He was arrested at Teynampet here yesterday.

        According to the Central Crime Branch police, one Ravi had approached several persons at the Perambur Taluk office and issued fake documents with duplicate seals and emblems prepared by him. He had also forged the signature of the then Perambur Tahsildhar

        The CCB police arrested Ravi following complaint by Tahsildar Narayanan. Meanwhile, Ravi went missing in 2002 after obtaining bail in the case.

        A special team which was formed to track down absconding white collar criminals managed to catch Ravi. He was sent to judicial custody after being produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore.
