How safe is Chennai?
        Sir,

Safety of the public in Chennai is becoming a very big question mark day by day. What happened in broad daylight at Nungambakkam beats all Hollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood movies which are specialising in violence from time to time.

The Greater Chennai CoP repeats the same old statements like 'the culprit will be nabbed; special teams are formed', etc. We as the public want results. Such daring attempts should be prevented fothwith. Only a fortnight back a 11-year-old was kidnapped and a ransom was demanded. And now, this lunch hour robbery at gunpoint.

Where is the safety to public? Instead of giving sops to many sections here and there, the government should accord priority to safeguarding public.

An eye-opener

        Sir,

Kudos to V Sundaram for admirably articulating the sincere sentiments of the silent majority of Hindus in a forthright and forceful manner in News Today issue dated 12 January, 2007.

This article as well as his earlier series amply show that it is high time the Hindus, of all castes and creed raise together, forgetting for the present all their petty differences and form a formidable vote bank so that all those dravidian parties of the south, the pseudo-secular outfits at the centre, the commies etc. whose favourite pastime is Hindu baiting with an eye on the minority votes, are taught a fitting lesson.

The basic adage of 'Unity is strength' should be strictly followed by the section of the population which constitutes around 85 per cent of the vote bank. It is now or never.

        Parasuram Sharma, Chennai.
