        The State Arts and Culture Department has planned to celebrate Pongal festival with various activities and competitions.

        According to a press release, students of Fine Arts College would display their talent at the Marina on 17 January apart from day- long cultural events including Karagam, Thappattam, Maanattam, Mayilattam and Poikkaal Kuthirai. Also, painting and dance competitions are to be conducted to make the harvest festival a colourful one, the release added.
