        Pirated VCDs of several Tamil movies worth Rs 9 lakh have been seized by the Chennai police and five persons arrested in this connection.

        Acting on complaints of circulation of pirated VCDs in the city, a special team carried out a raid on a few pavement shops at M K B Nagar, K K Nagar, Virugambakkam and MGR Nagar The raid yielded 1,600 VCDs of latest Tamil movies like Vettiyadu Vilayadu, Thiruvillaiyadal, Sivapathigaram and Veyil. The arrested were Selvam (25), Manikandan (22), Sahul Hameed (20), Nagoor (24) and Abdul Raheem (53) who were all remanded them to judicial custody.
