A unique collection of Rajasthani chudiyan (bangles) with mirror- embedded work, black metal statue from Hyderabad, white metal decoration pieces from Jaipur are available in Rajasthan Crafts Fair at Corporation Community Hall, Alwarpet.
Rajasthan Crafts Fair seems to be different from other exhibitions, as one can feel the Rajasthan flavour inside the hall. Artisans are dressed in traditional Rajasthani clothes.
The highlight of the exposition is Rajasthan's exclusive eatable items like mint supari, mint saunf. Apart from this, Tanjore paintings, metal crafts, floor coverings like carpets, hand-woven durries and namdas are displayed.
Miniature paintings, portraits, courtly paintings, mughala paintings on cloth and furniture are just a few of the various form of vibrantly coloured and intricate Rajasthani paintings on show. A discount of 10 per cent is available on handicrafts item and 20 per cent on all handloom items. The price range is between Rs 30 and Rs 1.18 lakh
Another unique thing is the puppet and magic show by artistes dressed in traditional wear.
The exhibition was inaugurated by violin exponent G J R Krishnan on 9 January. The exhibition will be on till 14 January.
